Privacy Policy - How we handle your data

This page explains what information SIT Karya Pertiwi ("we", "the school") collects when you use this website, why we collect it, and how it's handled. We keep this simple on purpose — we collect the minimum needed to answer questions, run admissions, and give parents and students access to the portal, nothing more.

What we collect

• Contact form submissions — name, email address, phone number (optional), question category (admission, academic, partnership, other), and your message, when you fill in the contact form.
• IP address — recorded with contact form and comment submissions, used only to prevent spam/abuse (rate limiting), not for tracking or profiling.
• Comments on news articles — the name and message you provide when commenting are visible to other visitors on that article.
• Parent/student portal accounts — login credentials and the academic/character progress records tied to that account, used solely so a parent or student can view their own child's or their own progress reports.
• Local preferences — your language choice is saved in your browser's local storage, not on our servers, purely so the site remembers your preference next visit.

What we don't do

• We don't sell, rent, or share your data with third-party advertisers.
• We don't run third-party analytics or ad-tracking scripts on this site.
• We don't use AI tools to process your messages or a student's progress records.

How your data is used

Contact form submissions are stored in our admin dashboard and, when email delivery is configured, forwarded to the school office so we can reply to your inquiry. Portal accounts are used only to display the progress records that belong to that specific parent/student. We do not use your information for any purpose beyond these.

Third-party services

This site keeps outside services to a minimum — fonts are self-hosted rather than loaded from a third party. The exceptions, both loaded only after you interact with them:

• YouTube (privacy-enhanced mode) — gallery videos are embedded via youtube-nocookie.com and only load after you click play, which limits cookie usage.
• Google Maps — the school location map only loads after you click to show it.

Data retention

Contact form submissions are kept in our admin dashboard so we can reference past conversations. Portal and academic progress records are kept for as long as a student is enrolled, and per the school's administrative record-keeping policy afterward. If you'd like your submitted data corrected or removed, contact us using the details below.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to tell you what data we hold about you or your child, correct it, or delete it (subject to the school's obligation to keep certain academic records). This is your right under Indonesia's Personal Data Protection Law (UU PDP).
